Rural Adventure Trekking Trails in Leparada District, Arunachal Pradesh (4 to 5 Days Trekking Trails)
Introduction
The Department of Tourism, Leparada District, has identified the potential for developing 4 to 5 days trekking trails in the District. The proposed trails are designed to promote eco-tourism, cultural exploration, and adventure activities, enhancing the tourist experience in the district. The initiative aims to boost the local economy by involving local communities and showcasing the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the area.
Proposed Trekking Trails
The proposed trekking trails start from Lai-Ho Eco Camp in Basar, Leparada District. The trails cover various historically significant and naturally beautiful locations, offering a comprehensive experience of the region’s landscape and culture.
Lai-Ho Eco Camp to Eshi-Chiku Village
• First Stop: Trekkers begin their journey at Lai-Ho Eco Camp, spending one night to acclimatize and enjoy the local surroundings.
• Second Stop: The trail proceeds to the Historical Ato Kori’s Graveyard near Eshi-Chiku Village, a site of significant cultural importance to the descendants of the Rihar, Riba, Riram, Rina, and Rike Clans.
• Accommodation: One night will be spent in Eshi-Chiku Village.
Eshi-Chiku Village to Sago Odi Area
• Third Stop: The next morning, trekkers will proceed to the Sago Odi area, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding districts, including Pasighat (East Siang), Aalo (West Siang), Daporijo (Upper Subansiri), and Basar (Leparada).
• Accommodation: Trekkers will spend the night at Piri Village via Sago Village, where homestay facilities are available.
Piri Village to Hipo Village
• Fourth Stop: Early the following day, trekkers will head to Hipo Village, home to the breathtaking Hido Waterfall. This location provides a unique experience of traditional fishing methods, including Hibok-Penam and Lipum Panam.
• Accommodation: After spending the night in Hipo Village at local homestays, the journey continues.
Hipo Village to Disi Village
• Fifth Stop: Trekkers will proceed to Disi Village, where they can witness the stunning Tago Waterfall. The area is ideal for fishing, bird watching, and other nature-based activities.
• Accommodation: The night will be spent at Disi Village.
Disi Village to Padi Village
• Final Stop: The final leg of the trek leads to Padi Village, where visitors can explore fascinating bat caves and engage in traditional activities. This marks the end of the trekking trail.
